Welcome to “Mac’s Picks for Championship Weekend”
New England Patriots (14-3) at Denver Broncos (14-3)
Sunday 3:00p CBS, Paramount+
When you bleed Gotham Green, it’s not easy to feel bad for another franchise. But it is a shame that Jarrett Stidham is preparing to make his fifth career start because Bo Nix fractured his ankle. Denver Broncos fans have to hope that Drake Maye continues to be careless with the football. In his two playoff games — he has fumbled 6 times, lost 3, and threw 2 interceptions. I’m looking for the Broncos to keep it close, but at the end of the day, the New England Patriots, after seven long years, will finally return to the Super Bowl.

Los Angeles Rams (12-5) at Seattle Seahawks (14-3)
Sunday 6:00p FOX
On paper, this is a classic matchup in the NFL’s penultimate game. While the Los Angeles Rams have not been hitting on all cylinders the last few weeks — they scored a league best 30.5 points per game during the regular season. On the other side of the field, the Seattle Seahawks have the league’s stingiest defense. During the season they allowed a mere 17.2 ppg — and followed that by allowing only two field goals last week against the San Francisco 49ers. With the infamous “12’s” behind them, I’m expecting Sam Darnold to earn a trip to Santa Clara.
