453 Until signing Justin Fields, the New York Jets have not embraced the dual-threat QB. As a matter of fact, you must go back to 1960 to find the Jets all-time single-season QB rushing leader. Al Dorrow ran for 453 yards in the franchise’s first season. Fields has already run for 2509 yards in his first 50 career games.

40 The New York Mets bullpen is dealing with season-ending injuries to left-handers AJ Minter and Danny Young. Former Met relief pitcher David Robertson, who recently celebrated his 40th Birthday, is still available on the free agent market. We’ve been advocating for the team from the Bronx to sign him, but he’d look good back in Citi Field as well.

19 We ran the Tankathon NBA Draft Lottery simulation 19 times before the Brooklyn Nets secured the first-overall pick and the opportunity to draft Duke freshmen Cooper Flagg. The Nets actual odds are 9% when the real lottery happens next Monday (5/12) at 7p on ESPN.

14 As we learned today by reading Jared Schwartz’s article in the New York Post, when OG Anunoby takes at least 14 shots for the New York Knicks in the playoffs, the Knicks are a perfect 8-0, as opposed to 4-8 in games when he takes 13 or less shots.

13 is the number of sacks that Micah Parsons had for the Dallas Cowboys in his outstanding 2021 rookie season. Abdul Carter has long been compared to his fellow Penn State alum. The New York Giants third overall pick may not have a number to wear on his back yet, but 13 is a number to shoot for to keep those comparisons alive.

12 The New York Rangers have a decision to make ahead of the 2025 NHL Draft. Do they send the 12th overall pick to the Pittsburgh Penguins via the Vancouver Canucks to complete the JT Miller trade, or do they retain it, and give the Penguins their unprotected first round pick in 2026. Gavin McKenna makes GM Chris Drury’s decision more complicated. The 17-year-old Canadian is considered a generation talent and next year’s presumptive #1 pick, as illustrated by goals like this.

11 The New York Liberty will start defending their first WNBA Championship in eleven days at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The Liberty take on the Las Vegas Aces on Saturday, May 17th at 1p on ESPN.

4 Dougie Hamilton, already on his fourth team in 13 NHL seasons, maybe on the move again this summer. The Vancouver Canucks talked openly about their captain Quinn Hughes’ desire to join his brothers Jack and Luke in Newark. For salary cap purposes, and positionally, it would make sense for Hamilton to be part of that deal.

3 times in the last 7 days the New York Yankees sat Jasson Dominguez against a right-handed pitcher, despite the switch-hitters above average stats from the left-side of the batter’s box. On the Yankees, against righties, Dominquez ranks 3rd in average and on-base, and 4th in slugging and OPS.

3 The New York Islanders won the NHL Draft Lottery last night for the third time since it was established in 1995. They jumped up from the fifth seed in 2000 to select goaltender and ESPN New York radio morning man Rick DiPietro. They held on to the first seed in 2009 when they selected public-enemy #1 John Tavares. The early mock drafts have the Islanders selecting potential #1 defensemen Matthew Schaefer.
