Mac’s Picks was 4-2 last weekend on the Moneyline. Plus, our best bet was taking the Philadelphia Eagles minus 5, who ended up beating the Green Bay Packers 22-10.
Houston Texans (10-7) at Kansas City Chiefs (15-2)
Saturday 4:30p ESPN/ABC/ESPN+
Kansas City (-9) was undefeated at home in 2024 and a perfect 12-0 in one possession games. In their pursuit of an unprecedented three-peat, the Chiefs have become the team many root against, as conspiracy theories have suggested that the league and officials continue to script their wins. Well, if that’s the case, they are certainly not going to lose this week with a showdown looming against the winner of the Baltimore Ravens vs. Buffalo Bills game in next week’s AFC Championship.
Mac’s Pick – Chiefs 30 Texans 21
Washington Commanders (12-5) at Detroit Lions (15-2)
Saturday 8p FOX
Detroit (-8 ½) was second in the NFL in rushing yards led by emerging star Jahmyr Gibbs (1412 yards, 5.6 average), while Washington ranked 30th in the league defending the run (giving up 137.5 yards per game). The Commanders are the NFC’s feel-good story of 2024, but Jayden Daniel’s magical rookie season is destined to end this week in Detroit, as Uncle Lenny’s Lions are on a mission to get back to the NFC Championship game.
Mac’s Pick – Lions 38 Commanders 17
Los Angeles Rams (10-7) at Philadelphia Eagles (14-3)
Sunday 3p NBC/Peacock
Philadelphia (-6) is 9-1 at home, including last week’s wild card win over the Packers. Statistically they have the league’s best defense and a true MVP candidate in Saquon Barkley. While it’s tough to bet against the experience of Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford, for the second week in a row we are going with the Eagles as our best bet against the point spread.
Mac’s Pick – Eagles 31 Rams 17
Baltimore Ravens (12-5) at Buffalo Bills (13-4)
Sunday 630p CBS/Paramount+
The long-awaited, much-anticipated showdown between co-MVP favorites Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen anchors the division round weekend. Talk about a coin-toss game? Even Vegas is confused as both teams have been favorites this week. I would suggest keeping your money in your wallet, and just enjoying these two teams fighting for the right to get out of the Chiefs shadow.
Mac’s Pick – Bills 24 Ravens 22
