Mac’s Picks is 7-3 in the playoffs on the Moneyline and a perfect 2-0 against the spread with our weekly best bets. Here’s our picks for NFL Championship Weekend.
Washington Commanders (12-5) at Philadelphia Eagles (14-3)
Sunday 3p FOX
With apologies to Aunt Renee’s favorite show Sesame Street, one of these teams is not like the others. Back in August, the Super Bowl Odds from the BetMGM Sportsbook had Kansas City first, Philadelphia 5th, Buffalo 7th and Washington tied for 26th. The Commanders have been led by a rookie quarterback who has put together one of the best, if not the best, rookie seasons in NFL history. Plus, their coach Dan Quinn has finally put Super Bowl 51 behind him (which his Atlanta Falcons lost to the New England Patriots after leading 28-3). We predicted that this amazing storybook year would come to an end last week in Detroit, but this time, we really mean it.
Philadelphia is led by a running back who is having his own storybook season, and the Eagles are more experienced, have the stronger defense and can get a yard whenever they desire. We not only believe that they are going to advance to the Super Bowl for the second time in three seasons, but we are willing to give the 6 points and make them our best bet against the spread for the third week in a row.
Mac’s Pick – Eagles 31 Commanders 21
Buffalo Bills (13-4) at Kansas City Chiefs (15-2)
Sunday 6:30p CBS/Paramount+
Seriously, put away the betting app, grab yourself some food and your favorite beverage, and just enjoy what could be an all-time classic. Why would you want to put money on this game? It’s literally the definition of a “toss-up”.
On one hand, Kansas City in undefeated at home, undefeated in one possession games, Patrick Mahomes is undefeated in the playoffs against Josh Allen, and every conspiracy theorist believes the NFL wants Mahomes, Andy Reid, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift back in the Super Bowl.
On the other hand, Allen just had the best season of his career, Buffalo outranked Kansas City in every major offensive category, and due to the growing hatred for the Chiefs, Bills Mafia will have the majority of 46 states and Canada on their side. If not now, when?
Mac’s Pick – Bills 27 Chiefs 22
