Gang Green’s annual Super Bowl, aka the “NFL Draft”, is less than three weeks away. Since everyone knows the Las Vegas Raiders are selecting QB Fernando Mendoza with the first overall pick — our New York Jets are officially on the clock.

The media debate centers on which defensive stud the Jets are going to take at #2. Ohio State LB/Edge Arvell Reese is the betting favorite, followed by Texas Tech Edge David Bailey, Ohio State LB Sonny Styles and Miami Edge Rueben Bain Jr.

Since I’m handling GM duties for the Jets, while the PFSN NFL Mock Draft Simulator handles them for the other 31 teams, I was waffling between Reese and Styles until the simulator’s phone rang with a trade proposal I could not turn down.

As a result of trades with the Dallas Cowboys and Carolina Panthers, I ended up drafting 10 players, and acquiring two more premium 2027 draft choices.

New York Jets 2026 Mock NFL Draft (2.0)
1 (12) — Makai Lemon, WR, USC
1 (16) — Kenyon Sadiq, TE, Oregon
1 (20) — Omar Cooper Jr, WR, Indiana
2 (33) — Zion Young, Edge, Missouri
2 (44) — Keylan Rutledge, OG, Georgia Tech
3 (92) — Treydan Stukes, CB/S, Arizona
4 (103) — Sam Hecht, OC, Kansas State
5 (158) — Dominic Zvada, K, Michigan
5 (159) — Luke Altmyer, QB, Illinois
6 (179) — Justin Jefferson, LB, Alabama

Via trades and free agency, the real GM Darren Mougey concentrated on rebuilding the Jets defense. Therefore, it makes sense to lean toward offense in the draft.

  1. New York Jets trade picks #2 and #242 to the Dallas Cowboys for picks #12, #20, #92, and the Cowboys’ second and third round draft choices in 2027. Gang Green foregoes selecting a defensive stud, but they make OC Frank Reich and QB Geno Smith very happy with three versatile offensive weapons.
  2. New York Jets trade picks #140 and #228 to the Carolina Panthers for picks #158 and #159. With Nick Folk in Atlanta, the Jets use pick #158 to select the top place-kicking prospect and #159 to take a swing on a high-IQ quarterback.

If the Jets add Lemon, Sadiq, and Cooper to Breece Hall, AD Mitchell, Mason Taylor, and Garrett Wilson — the talent on offense would rival 2015 when Ryan Fitzpatrick had Eric Decker, Quincy Enunwa, Chris Ivory, Brandon Marshall, and Bilal Powell as his weapons.

2026 Mock NFL Draft (2.0) Second Round

The New York Jets 2026 Mock NFL Draft (2.0) was created using the PFSN NFL Mock Draft Simulator from ProFootballNetwork.com. We conducted a full seven-round draft using the “consensus player list” that combines data from The Athletic, ESPN, PFF, and PFSN.

The 2026 NFL Draft will be held in Pittsburgh — round one on Thursday, April 23, rounds two and three on Friday, April 24, and rounds four through seven on Saturday, April 25.
