What exactly is goalie interference?
That’s not a segue into a brilliant post, it’s simply a question. I joined 18,000 hockey fans last night at Madison Square Garden for the Rangers home opening 6-5 loss to the Utah Hockey Club, due in part to coming up on the short end on two goalie interference calls.
No one in my section, nor any of the broadcasts I listened to, nor the players or coaches who were interviewed after the game could really answer the question. Attempts are nebulous at best. If it goes your team’s way, it’s a good call. If not, it’s not.
